Friday started with Jeppy getting offered a FT job, YAHOOOOOO. If his background is a-ok, it is his, I am very happy for him! I ran into my friend at a mexican restaurant, which was so awesome, she blesses me.
Saturday was nice and slow, just as a Saturday should be. I took Chels to the barn and relaxed by the fire writing Christmas Cards. Ethan played with his buddies all day, at our house, at their houses, it is so fun. I finished my cards and bought Terms of Endearment to watch, it was only $4.00. Well, I forgot how sad that movie is, and it was even worse now that I have a daughter. I cried like a faucet..Chelsea dropped a couple tears also even though she tried hard not to.
Then I called my momma because is there anything else one feels like doing after watching that movie? It was so odd, some other ladies’ voice was on her answering machine. Mom called me back laughing so hard because she had bought the answering machine at a garage sale for $2.00 and didn’t know how to change it. We laughed just as hard as I had cried. I love her so much.
Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.

Very cool - Jeff received the Distinguished Service Award for the reserves at the 30th anniversary ceremony tonight. It was really special. Congratulations Jeff! I will post a picture soon.
Tonight, I trotted on Joker and it was such a blast. I am finally starting to get the hang of posting. It is so exciting. I try not to get too excited so I can stay focused but it is so fun. Chelsea is doing amazing also. She is so fearless and is a really good rider. I love the hours with her at the barn, feels like I am making up for all those work trips when she was little, every minute is a gift.
so it is 4pm on halloween and we decide to go to a fall festival right before the trick and treatin begins….I hop into the shower and the doorbell rings. To our surprise all of Ethan’s buddies were outside ready for him to come out to trick or treat at 4pm! I threw some clothes on, chels and jeff stayed at the house to give hundreds of kids candy - the streets were colored with all sorts of different characters, one of my favorites was mario and luigi. We walked up and down our neighborhood for the next 2 and a half hours and I was astounded at the type of treats provided - full candy bars, popcorn, dove chocolate….it was enough to motivate me to dress-up. When we got home, around 7ish, the teenagers were out and a whole group came up to the door and one boy hung back. I said, “come on over, you can have some candy also, and he said, no thank you, I already came here and wouldn’t want to take more candy.” Pretty cool.
After all the festivities, we decided to go see Vince Vaughan’s movie, “Couples Retreat and filled Chels with courage, it would only be a couple hours and she and E would just be sleeping. About two hours later, Chels called and begged us to hurry home because something was making lots of noise outside and Bella wouldn’t stop barking. We rushed home missing the end of the movie, (if you saw it shoot me an email, been driving me crazy) and found deer eating our pumpkins.
Today we walked for an hour through a corn maze shaped like a pirate ship and then played soccer and football in warm ”50 degree” weather. Enjoying the Midwest experiences :).
